Molinia Banshee is an elegant, deciduous moor grass forming a tidy clump of slender green leaves that take on warm autumn tints. In late summer it sends up fine, airy panicles held on upright stems, purple-tinged when fresh and turning straw as the season advances, creating luminous movement among perennials. Best in full sun or light shade and moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil that tends towards acidic; fully hardy and superb for adding vertical texture and architectural lightness to naturalistic and mixed borders.
