Cucumber Asian Brocade Seeds

This is an Asian cooking cucumber known as Sambar Southekai which can be used in a wider range of Indian and Asian dishes. The fruits grow to about 20cm long and can be sored in cool dry conditions for months after harvest. The plants are grown like cucumbers and have green fruits with yellow strips. They have a high level of resistance to powdery mildew. Cucumis melo.

Sow from April onwards individually. It is best to plant the seeds on their side. Keep the soil moist and the temperature about 20C. Plant out from June onwards in the greenhouse. The plant benefits from training up canes, remove side shoots and feed regularly.
