Ilex meserveae Blue Prince is a male holly valued for its dense, evergreen structure and deep bluegreen, glossy, spiny leaves. Small white flowers appear in late spring (MayJune); as a male clone it provides pollen for female hollies but does not produce berries. A reliable, fully hardy choice for hedging, topiary and structural planting, it thrives in sun or light shade and in moderately fertile, well-drained soil.
