Ilex aquifolium Argentea Marginata is a slow-growing, evergreen English holly with glossy, spiny leaves edged in creamy-white variegation, providing year-round structure and contrast. Small white flowers appear in late spring; on female plants these can be followed by red berries if pollinated. Reliable and fully hardy, it performs in sun or light shade and in most moist but well-drained soils (including chalk). Excellent as a striking specimen or for clipped, structural planting and evergreen backbone in the garden.
