Helleborus niger Mont Blanc is a compact, evergreen Christmas rose prized for its large, pristine white flowers that appear from midwinter into early spring, held above leathery, dark green foliage. Perfect for brightening shaded borders, under deciduous shrubs, or for winter containers, it thrives in partial shade and a sheltered spot with humusrich, moistureretentive but welldrained soil that is neutral to alkaline (tolerates chalk). Avoid waterlogged sites and remove older foliage as buds form to better display the blooms. Typically grows to around 30cm tall and wide.
