Sow seeds indoors on a warm windowsill or in a greenhouse from late winter to early spring. Sow 0.5cm deep in pots or trays of moist compost and cover lightly. Keep warm (1520C) and well-watered. Seedlings appear in 715 days. When large enough to handle,transplant into individual pots and grow on in cooler but frost-free conditions. Gradually acclimatise before planting out in their final position. Avoid chilling, as cold temperatures can slow growth and reduce yield.
