Festuca glauca Intense Blue forms neat, hemispherical clumps of intensely blue, fine-textured evergreen foliage that bring year-round colour to edging, gravel and rock gardens or containers. Best in full sun and very well-drained, poor to moderately fertile, light or sandy soil; it is drought tolerant once established and dislikes winter wet. Airy greenish flower stems appear in early to midsummer (JuneJuly), rising just above the tuft. Comb out or trim old foliage in late winter to early spring to refresh growth. Eventual size about 2030 cm high and wide.
