Carex brunnea Variegata is an evergreen, clump-forming sedge prized for its arching, finely textured leaves boldly striped green and cream, adding year-round brightness and movement to borders and containers. Grow in sun or light shade in moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil; trim old foliage in late winter to refresh the clump. Flowering is modest and mainly for effect of the foliage; ideal for edging, pots, and as low, textural groundcover.
