This variety features medium/large compact round heads with bronze-red leaves.

Early sowing can be made outdoors direct into growing site 1.5cm deep. October sowings should be made into a cold frame. Thin out seedlings as they grow until they are 20cm apart. Plants raised in a cold frame need only be thinned to 10cm until the spring, when they can be thinned again and the extra seedlings planted outside. For a slightly later crop, seeds can be sown very early in the year in a cold frame and planted out as soon as conditions allow.
