Sow seeds indoors in early spring or directly outdoors after the last frost. Plant 23cm deep in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location. Keep soil moist and warm until germination (714 days). Thin seedlings and allow space for sprawling vines. Harvest when skin is firm and stems begin to dry. Store in a cool, dark place to maintain flavour and long storage life.
