Cucumber – Carmen

Carmen produces top quality crops of large, straight, glossy fruits, which are cold tolerant with superb resistance to disease. The cucumbers are an excellent source of vitamin C and A.

Sow indoors, from February to May, 0.5cm deep, on the seeds edge, in small pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 20-25C is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-21 days. When plants have developed 3 or 4 leaves, transplant to 12cm pots and grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Plant out, April-June, to large pots, growing bags, or into fertile, well-drained soil in the greenhouse border. Harvest from July to October.
