Lovage – Levisticum Officinale

Lovage is a tall, vigorous herbaceous perennial tasting of celery, growing to a height of 150cm. It is superb chopped into salads, and stems can be used like celery in soups and stews. Introduced by the Romans into Britain, this is a worthwhile addition to the herb border.

Sow direct in drills, in May, with thin to 45 cm spacing. Lovage likes moist soils in semi-shade or sun.
