This is a very nice caudex plant that germinates easily but is a slow grower. It is easy to grow even when neglected. It will go dormant and lose leaves in winter, so should be kept dry and around 5 degrees Celsius. New sprouts will then appear the next spring, usually in April.

Sow the seed in a cactus mix at around 18 – 22C. Germination can take from 2 to 8 weeks.
