Sow from February to April. Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 20-25C. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination, which usually takes 10-21 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm apart or plant into baskets and containers filled with a good quality potting compost. Flowering from June onwards.
