Lettuce Great Lakes

Great Lakes produces medium to large heads with bright green leaves. It is a very crisp variety and slow to bolt in hot weather. This variety of lettuce produces first class quality for summer crops.

Sow the seed from March to June. Sow the seeds thinly in shallow drills 1cm deep in the growing site. Keep well watered. Thin the seedlings as they grow to about 15cm apart. The thinnings can be transplanted and will mature a little later. Finally, thin to 30cm apart using the plants you remove as salad leaves.
