Skimmia japonica Antarctica is a slow-growing, evergreen selection valued for its neat habit and glossy green foliage, bringing year-round structure to shaded borders and containers. In spring it bears clusters of white flowers, providing seasonal interest in darker corners of the garden. For best results, plant in humus-rich, moderately fertile, ericaceous (acid) soil that is moist but well-drained, and position in partial to full shade; fully hardy and dependable once established.
