Sedum (stonecrop) is a versatile, low-maintenance perennial celebrated for its resilience and love of sunshine. Thriving in well-drained soils, including sandy or rocky ground, it copes well with dry conditions and is ideal for gravel and rock gardens, borders, groundcover and even green roofs. Many selections produce clusters of starry flowers in a range of colours depending on variety, often later in the season, providing valuable nectar for pollinators. Expect compact to mid-sized mounding or spreading plants, typically up to around 60 cm tall and wide, depending on the mix.
