Thyme English Winter is a hardy evergreen perennial that has many uses: for flavouring, fragrance, tisanes and medicinal purposes. It has mauve flowers in summer and grows to 15 cm. It is especially good in meat dishes.

Sow outdoors in a confined area, in May, with thin to 20 cm spacing.It will grow in most garden soils, and should be kept well watered in summer.
