Artichoke Violetta Di Chioggia

This popular vegetable is grown for the purple globes that are often served boiled with melted butter and other sauces. The plant has a distinctive flower and will continue to produce a larger harvest each year. This variety has large and more open heads than the standard version. The flower head has an attractive purple colour with a green tinge.

Sow from February in the greenhouse and then plant out in early summer. They can also be planted out directly in Spring. Harvest in the second year.
