This unusual plant has many uses including salting the buds or pickling when green. The germination of these seeds is around 60% with good care.

The seed easily goes dormant, to break this soak for one day in warm water, and keep refrigerated for 2-3 months. Then plant at a depth of 1 cm in well drained medium. Germination can be erratic and needs a bit of patience. Easy to grow in any soil. Divide established clumps in autumn. Bees love the flowers.
