Cucumber (Gherkin) – Calimbo F1 Seeds

A pickle lovers perfect variety for home garden cultivation. Vigorous vining type plants benefit from vertical support on wires in a greenhouse or polytunnel, but can be left to grow horizontally in Mediterranean climates. The all female parthenocarpic plants produce masses of tasty, dark green, non bitter gherkins.

Sow from April onwards individually. It is best to plant the seeds on their side. Keep the soil moist and the temperature about 20C. Plant out from June onwards in the greenhouse. The plant benefits from training up canes, remove side shoots and feed regularly.
