This striking perennial bears large silvery blue flower heads on blue tinted stems from mid to late summer. It is elegant as a garden plant and widely appreciated by flower arrangers.
To get the best germination the seeds need a period of cold. The seed can be grown all year around. In the winter, sow the seeds and place in a cold greenhouse or cold frame. The germination can be slow and erratic so allow up to 3 months. In the spring and summer, sow the seeds and seal in a polythene bag and place in the fridge for a few weeks before placing outside.
