Garlic Chives

Garlic or Chinese Chives are easily grown by the same cultivation methods as chives. They make a neat dainty clump, and green leaves with delicate garlic-like flavour. Star-like white flowers grow in August. They are especially useful when garlic bulbs are out of season or unavailable, and may be kept going in pots over winter indoors to prolong supplies.

These chives are easy to grow in any soil. Established clumps should be divided in autumn.

Sow outdoors, in situ, in May, with thin to 15 cm spacing. Alternatively, they can be grown in pots.
