Green Manure Winter Tares

Winter Tares is an annual, fast growing vetch once established. It fixes nitrogen and is winter hardy. For the best weed suppression, mix with Rye.

Sow the seeds from March to May, or July to mid-September. Broadcast at 15gm per square metre or in rows 4cm deep and 15cm apart. The growing time is up to 3 months, or over winter. Ideal for slightly heavy land, and will not survive in acidic soils. Dig in any time up to flowing.
