Lettuce – Pigale Pills

Pigale Pills produces a stunning and attractive lettuce which matures earlier than other varieties. It is a small, yet compact little gem which are red in colour with a crisp sweetheart centre. This variety has good resistance to bolting, tipburn and mildew. Pigale Pills has a very sweet taste so is ideal for a delicious home grown salad.

Sow the pills from March to June, thinly in shallow drills 1cm deep, approximately 15cm apart with 30cm between rows. Keep the soil moist. There is no need to transplant. Pull and use alternate plants. This variety can be grown in limited space, grow bags, large pots or window boxes. The lettuces are ready to harvest from June to October.
