• Plant outdoors in early spring in a location with full sun to part shade and average, well-drained soil. Or start indoors three to four weeks early for transplants. Keep soil evenly moist while plants are young. In mild climates, sow in fall for winter bloom.
• Cut plant back by one half when initial blossoms fade to encourage another set of flowers.
