Lobelia Tupa

This is a very unusual giant hardy lobelia that originates from Chile. It has a large rosette of thick leathery felted leaves. The thick stems carry a tropical looking orchid-like deep carmine flower. It flowers from July through to the autumn frosts.

Sow finely and evenly. Cover thinly with compost or grit. Germinate in gentle heat or in a warm bright spot outside. Grow-on individual seedlings in 3 inch pots before planting out.
