Mountain Mint – Pycnanthemum Pilosum

Mountain Mint has a good minty scent and flavour from long thin pointed leaves. It can be used the same as other mints. This hardy perennial grows to 90cm. This is not a true mint and therefore is not invasive. It looks very attractive in a border, with knot-like pinky white flowers beloved by butterflies.

Sow outdoors in situ, in May, thin to 20 cm spacing. It will grow in any moist garden soil and can be grown in partial shade. Pick the leaves as required, which are best used fresh.
