Produces early crops with outstanding flavour Flavoursome, tender green stems with purple florets that show good tolerance to heat and needs no vernalisation. Excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidants Sow indoors 0.5cm (1/4″) deep, in a tray of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of approx 13oC (55oF) is ideal. Keep moist. Transplant 5cm (2″) apart to other trays when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 60cm (2′) apart. Allow 60cm (2′) between rows, water well. Cut the shoots when 15cm (6″) long. Harvest regularly to encourage further shoots. 100g of broccoli provides the daily requirement of vitamin C.
