Sow indoors for the best results, in trays of compost. Cover very lightly with fine soil. Water well and place on a warm windowsill at about 20C(68F). Seedlings should appear in 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm(2in) apart to further trays when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 25cm(10in) apart.
Sow outdoors:in a seed bed, cover very lightly with fine soil. Keep moist and weed free. Thin seedlings to 5cm apart before planting out to flowering positions in spring or autumn, spacing 25cm apart
