Rhododendron roxieanum Blewbury is an evergreen rhododendron valued for its narrow, leathery, dark green leaves with rolled margins and felted indumentum beneath, forming a compact, rounded shrub. In late spring it bears clusters of funnel-shaped, white flowers, typically in May. Grow in partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds, in acid, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Ideal for woodland-style planting and shaded, acid borders; allow space for its steady, compact growth to around 11.5m over time.
