Organic Endive Pancalieri

This variety features broad bulky heads with dark green, very serrated outer leaves and creamy white hearts. It produces crops throughout the year.

Early sowing can be done outdoors direct into growing site 1.5cm deep. October sowings should be made into a cold frame. Thin out seedlings as they grow until 20cm apart. Plants raised in a cold frame need only be thinned to 10cm until the spring when they can be thinned again and the extra seedlings planted outside. For a slightly later crop, seeds can be sown very early in the year in a cold frame and planted out as soon as conditions allow.
