Sweet Pepper – Mavras F1

A sweet pepper that produces fruits with a finish of deep red but can be picked earlier when deep purple. They are very vigorous and early to fruit. Ideal stuffed or added to salads.

Sow thinly in trays, pots or modules in March to April at about 22C, cover finely with compost. Cover with glass or polythene to retain humidity. Remove cover as soon as seedlings appear. When seedlings are 5cm (2″) tall, prick off into individual pots, thin modules to a single seedling per cell. When plants are 15cm (6″) tall transplant to greenhouse border, growbags or large pots. Support with canes if necessary. Water regularly and spray the foliage as it will help set the fruit. Feed the same as tomatoes.
