Viburnum burkwoodii is a reliable, highly fragrant, semi-evergreen viburnum bearing rounded clusters of white flowers that open from pink-tinged buds in mid to late spring (AprilMay). The dark green foliage is often retained through mild winters, and flowers may be followed by red fruits ripening to black. Thriving in sun or light shade and in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, its an easy, long-lived choice for mixed shrub borders or as a near-path or doorway specimen where its perfume can be appreciated.
