Black Medick – Medicago Lupulina

Black Medick is a short-lived plant, a low spreading perennial with clusters of yellow flowers and clover flowers. It flowers from April to June. The plant grows well in dry places due to the long tap root. It needs open space to grow so does best in managed areas. The seed survives for a number of years in the ground so will often reappear after a number of years.

Best sown in the autumn and a period of light scarification may improve germination.
