Water Figwort – Scrophularia Auriculata

Water figwort is a tall, native perennial with an obviously winged, square stem, opposite leaves and a characteristically shaped red-brown flower. Water figwort is a plant of permanently damp soils and is found at the margins of lakes, rivers and streams and in ditches, wet hollows and marshes. It is reasonably shade tolerant and can often be found in wet woodlands.

Sow onto bare damp soil at any time of the year.
