Winter Squash Crown Prince Seed

Crown Prince is a classic New Zealand Winter squash with its grey skin and bright orange flash. This variety is known for its sweet, rich nutty flavour making it an ideal eating type.

The plants make large vines and the fruits have good storage ability. The fruits weigh around 3-4kg.

Sow the seeds undercover from April onward, place the seeds on their sides to avoid rotting off. They are planted around at the depth of the seed in quality seed compost. Keep in warm until germination which takes about a week. Harden off before planting out after the last frost. The seeds can be sown direct when the soil warms up in late spring
