This stately giant features two inch thick stems, with dinner plate sized leaves, that support numerous eight inch green and white waxy, very fragrant trumpets, followed by enormous “everlasting”, toothed seed-pods when dried.

Cover the seeds with compost or grit 5mm deep. Keep moist in a cool, covered light spot outside. No heat is needed, and the seeds often germinate in spring. They are slow to germinate, so sow now and they will probably not germinate until early next year. Grow on seedlings in 3″ pots, and then plant out in good garden soil.
